The primary objective of safety work is to eliminate or minimize human injury and property and production losses. The Safety and occupational health management work requires application of knowledge of: (a) the principles, standards, and techniques of safety and occupational health management; an (b) related elements of engineering, physical science, ergonomics and other scientific and technological fields which contribute to the achievement of comprehensive safety and occupational health objectives.

The Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification Program is designed for individuals who demonstrate competency and designated as health and safety officer on construction job sites to prevent construction illness and injuries. This program will provide trainees with the first steps towards the international certifications.
